Time ... Time....

Another 6 months and no blog ! Its funny, I created a blog just for the sake of creating one. I visit it every 6 months and complain about not being able to write anything. Let meet again in 6 months. Bye !

Nostalgia

Looking at my blog again after a long time (around 6 months). Tried to tweak with CSS template, but failed to make any impact. Its been long time I touched any css style sheet either (more than a year).

Mumbai Attacks

How can people be so cruel. I was reading an article where one of the victim describes "The gunmen had a smile on his face while spraying bullets". Just imagining such a picture causes so much anger. The anger and hatred is not just against the ruthless terrorists but also against equally responsible bureaucratic, corrupt State and Central Governments. Not to forget RAW. It is time to introspect into accountability while carrying out investigation. It took the entire NSG and Navy commandos of India nearly 3 days to kill three terrorists in a hotel. Definitely not commendable. This incident clearly states no street, no house is safe in India. I personally feel, the Prime Minister is incapable. The home minister is worse. President, I think this position can be removed to save money and time.

Its been long time

Ok, I started this blog long time back. I havnt been able to manage time to keep blogging. Let see how things go moving forward....

Ubuntu saves me - discovered a nice hack

My windows machine crashed today, and luckily i could recover files because of ubuntu live cd. But by doing so i discovered something else. I can access all the documents of all the users (even the administrators) by booting with a Ubuntu live CD. So guys if u want to hack the files of another user on your computer, boot with ubuntu and copy them on to your flash drive.

USPS tracking is bad

I thing the USPS tracking service is bad. I was supposed to receive a parcel through USPS priority mail. I was sent the tracking number. But the tracking info was updated only after delivery. I dont think they should call their service tracking. FEDEX and UPS do the real tracking.

Home sweet home

Finally purchased tickets to go home. Still a long way to go, but at least I now know I will be going home. Looking back at the past 6 months, all i can say is it has been a mixed bag. It took me 6 months to realize that I made a good decision by quiting infosys. I still remember those days of filling up excel sheets for months, waiting for client calls which I can hardly understand (Italian guys speak bad english), working on saturdays, messing up the system and trying to make it work. I think I messed up the system more than any enhancements that I did to it. Anyways It was a good learning experience of how complicated things can be with multiple people working together. Also understood the importance of communication. I guess my manager still didn't realize it. I dont understand why people start outsourcing. Cheaper will be the answer I guess. But I think cost is directly proportional to quality. Several freshers that kept coming into organization were so bad that I feared delegating work to them. I ended up doing my own work, wasting time delegating them work and eventually doing their work. Infosys has become so cheap that my senior here once said he thinks if someone does not get job anywhere infy will pick him up. If I was to own a company, I would always like to keep things under control, and clean even if I ended up sacrificing profits. I want all people working under my company to have that feeling that they own the company. Motivation is something that can do wonders. I think Mr Murthy and co. were more interested in profits than all this. Anyways everybody have their own opinions and own goals in life. But atleast know I am happy to be out that 50,000 shit. I am not including all employees because some of them are really good. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I started with home sweet home and digressed to somewhere else.
